Twenty-seven patients with typhoon-related PTSD, 33 trauma-exposed controls (TEC), and 30 healthy controls (HC) were scanned with a 3-Tesla magnetic resonance imaging scanner. The FCs of the BLA, the CMA, and the amygdala as a whole were examined using a seed-based approach, and then, the analysis of variance was used to compare the groups.
We demonstrated that the BLA had a stronger connectivity with the prefrontal cortices (PFCs) and angular gyrus in the PTSD group than in the TEC group. Additionally, compared with the PTSD and the HC groups, the TEC group exhibited decreased and increased BLA FC with the ventromedial PFC and postcentral gyrus (PoCG), respectively. Furthermore, the PTSD group showed abnormal FC between the salience network and default-mode network, as well as the executive control network. Compared with the HC group, the TEC group and the PTSD group both showed decreased BLA FC with the superior temporal gyrus (STG). Finally, the FCs between the bilateral amygdala (as a whole) and the vmPFC, and between the BLA and the vmPFC have a negative correlation with the severity of PTSD.

Soybean varieties from these regions generally mature early and exhibit extremely low yield when grown under inductive short-day (SD) conditions at low latitudes. The long-juvenile (LJ) trait, which is characterized by delayed flowering and maturity, and improved yield under SD conditions, allowed the cultivation of soybean to expand to lower latitudes. Two major loci control the LJ trait J and E6. In the current study, positional cloning, sequence analysis, and transgenic complementation confirmed that E6 is a novel allele of J, the ortholog of Arabidopsis thaliana EARLY FLOWERING 3 (ELF3). The mutant allele e6PG , which carries a Ty1/Copia-like retrotransposon insertion, does not suppress the legume-specific flowering repressor E1, allowing E1 to inhibit Flowering Locus T (FT) expression and thus delaying flowering and increasing yields under SD conditions. The e6PG allele is a rare allele that has not been incorporated into modern breeding programs. The dysfunction of J might have greatly facilitated the adaptation of soybean to low latitudes. Our findings increase our understanding of the molecular mechanisms underlying the LJ trait and provide valuable resources for soybean breeding.While previous studies have identified many risk factors for the progression and rupture of cerebral aneurysms, the changes in aneurysm flow characteristics during its evolution are not fully understood. This work analyzes the changes in the aneurysm hemodynamic environment from its initial development to later stages when the aneurysm has substantially enlarged. A total of 88 aneurysms at four locations were studied with image based computational fluid dynamics (CFD). Two synthetic sequences representing the aneurysm geometry at three earlier stages were generated by shrinking the aneurysm sac while keeping the neck fixed or shrinking the neck simultaneously. The flow conditions were then quantitatively compared between these two modes of evolution. As aneurysms enlarged, the inflow rate increased in growing neck sequences, but decreased in fixed neck sequences. The inflow jet became more concentrated in both sequences. The mean aneurysm flow velocity and wall shear stress decreased in both sequences, but they decreased faster in enlarging aneurysms if the neck was fixed. Additionally, the intra-aneurysmal flows became more complex and more unstable, wall shear stress distribution became more oscillatory, and the area under low wall shear stress increased for both sequences. The evolution of flow characteristics of aneurysms with fixed and growing necks are different. The observed trends suggest that fixed neck aneurysms may evolve towards a flow environment characteristic of stable aneurysms faster than aneurysms with growing necks, which could also evolve towards a more disfavorable environment.
